Pack your clubs, polish those putters, and prepare your banter - because our 2026 weekend away is taking us to the fantastic Dorset Golf Resort, one of the South Coast’s premier golfing playgrounds and a favourite for societies looking to mix serious golf with seriously good times.

The Golf

This year, we’ll be taking on two of Dorset’s standout courses - both offering a cracking blend of challenge, charm, and the occasional opportunity to lose a ball (or three).

• The Lakeland Course: A stunning layout carved around sparkling lakes and rolling terrain. Don’t be fooled by its beauty - those fairways tighten up when you least expect it, and the water hazards are practically licking their lips waiting for your Pro V1s. Keep it straight, keep it sensible… or don’t, and just enjoy the splash.

• The Woodland Course: Venture into the majestic pines for a round filled with shaping shots, sneaky doglegs, and more tranquil scenery than your handicap deserves. This is a true shot-maker’s course - rewarding accuracy, confidence, and the occasional miracle recovery from behind a tree. Expect laughter, unexpected brilliance, and the odd “that was totally the plan” moment.

Accommodation

We will be staying onsite in the resort’s spacious Scandinavian-style lodges - perfect for relaxing after a day on the fairways (or the rough). Each lodge offers modern comfort, room to unwind, and space for the evening antics that always seem to materialise when you put this group under one roof.
