Meet our past Champions

Our champions epitomize the pinnacle of skill and dedication to our Society. Beyond mere athleticism, they have sunk countless pints on their journey through the courses - turning adversity into opportunity!

Michael Gramani

Champion 2024

Mikey Gramani, the pride of Malawi, stands out as one of our most talented members. A low single-digit handicap player, Michael has made his mark in our golf society this year, delivering a series of remarkable near-scratch rounds. His exceptional performance culminated in securing the prestigious title of 2024 champion, showcasing his skill and determination on the course.

Vik Rampersad

Champion 2023

Vik, the Nottingham dynamo, commands attention as one of our most devoted members, making the arduous six-hour journey to partake in our Ubuntu Golf extravaganzas. In a display of skill and grit, Vik claimed victory in the 2023 cup after a titillating playoff showdown against runner-up Lalith, leaving hearts racing on and off the green.

Vanasen Kanniah

Champion 2022

Van, our social aficionado, frequently claims he plays solely for the camaraderie, but his game says otherwise - he's dialled in! With his charm and wit, Van adds a certain spice to any foursome. It's no surprise he's been elected as Captain for the 2024 year.

Kuni Poonasamy

Champion 2021

Kuni, our inaugural winner, proudly carries the esteemed title of First Ubuntu Champion. Hailing from South Africa's East London, Kuni really does talk the talk... As a magnetic force and essential architect of our Society, Kuni's influence has been instrumental in shaping our journey to its current success.

Their unwavering commitment and camaraderie shine through, enriching our community on and off the green.
